Her Greatest Loss
She had lost a lot including her parents and right now, Diana cared less of what happened next to her. Mum and Dad were gone in a ghastly motor accident and being the bread winner of the family, the responsibilities of her and the two younger girls rested on her shoulders. She needed help but who could she turn to? The only relative they ever knew, Uncle Tee filled with so much lust, demanded sexual appease from her before offering to help out. Diana left his presence that very day, vowing never to make an approach for help again.
Getting back home, she headed straight for the computer in her room meditating seriously that her application letter for the post of an Editor was acknowledged and accepted. In the hall way, she was halted by the sight of her siblings busy in the kitchen, she killed the first thought of going in and went to her room. The first notification that popped up on the computer was from "The City Watch Newspaper". Without further hesitation she opened the message and sadly was she strucked by the rejection. Solemnly, Diana changed out of her Jean and sweater and got into the shower, with the music on she stayed in for hours.
At sun set, with a heavy heart she got dressed and decided to go for a walk. As she stopped by the phone booth to make a call, she was distracted on a fellow preaching on God's presence. He kept on shouting "he is always available, but are you?!!". Noticing her, he pointed and said "this message is for you sister" and all Diana said was, "you so wish" and walked away. Since the day of the accident, she had given up on her faith and felt that there was nothing more to loose. She got tired of waiting on God.
On this very night, after two weeks of stagnation, she decided to follow up on uncle Tee's advances. As she left the house, she muttered to her mirror " you've got no one, so this is it" and she stepped out.
An hour after Diana left, her Lord came visiting, searched round the house but couldn't find her. At the entrance he left a parcel for her. When Diana got home her siblings were already asleep, opening the package, she found a cheque of a million dollar and a note which read:
"I see and hear all and at all times except YOU" - Your Lord.
Never had Diana felt so empty and worthless. She broke down on her sofa crying and screaming severely. In pains, Regret and total loss. In just a day she lost two most treasured of her life. Her virginity and her Lord- the greatest of all. Had she waited it could have been a different story.
N.P: Our presence matters.
God is always at our call and beckon but are we patient enough?
