Your Heart
Not really in the mood for the whole writing stuff today, just going to tell a story. A story that made me see something that millions haven't yet seen.
On this very day, as My mum and I walked through the market there was this young girl by the roadside selling fish and there was another very elderly woman, from her statue and feebleness I could guess she was in her 80s or so. This elderly woman was pleading the girl, I mean seriously begging her and the so called girl didn't even pay attention to the poor woman. The sight of that made me stop to watch what was really happening. What struck me most was when the girl turned and immediately barked at the woman then threw the fish she was holding on the ground and walked out. I was so weak, tears began dropping down my eyes. I looked at the girl standing far away murmuring angrily and I turned back to this poor elderly woman over here who could barely stand on her feet not to talk of walking, still begging this girl. A lot of thoughts started going through my mind.
From neighbouring sellers the full story was that this woman came to buy fish from this girl but didn't have enough money to pay, the fish was #300.00 and the woman had #250.00 with her that means just #50.00 made the money incomplete. So the fish seller got angry and started raining abuses on this woman for just #50.00. A woman of that age.
Hhmmmm... I felt so bad for her. You go out sometimes to meet situations that make you wonder- Like, No sympathy for the woman's age atleast.
Of all thoughts that went through my mind the most prevalent was if that business will really grow with such a heart?? Does she really think she will make it far? How is she even able to do such without feeling guilty?
When the famous "Dangote" we know now started, I remember hearing stories of how he went around his state distributing pastas for free before placing them on sale.
I am not saying we shouldn't do our businesses, neither am I saying we should go take all our products or belongings and give away just like that- No. What I'm saying is that sometimes we just have to let things go, the little irrelevant things we cling unto today, can be the big and most important thing that hinders us tomorrow.
It's not all about the sleepless nights and labour, make out time and be kind to people in any way you can. Remind them that God works through men- Yes. Things may be hard, that's true but you never can tell what a singular act of charity holds for you.
Be the reason why others smile
Build a charitable heart
Be kind... And watch things fall in place for you even before you wish.
Life doesn't tell how fast and how easy you got there, life tells more about how many things you were able to do on your way and how many obstacles you faced without giving up.
